Writing erotica is a new world to me. I began writing this year after retiring from my human sexuality college teaching career.
What inspires you to write in your genre?
My students suggested I write erotica as a different medium for sharing what I know. Because sexuality is an integral part of my life, I didn’t want to give it up. Having spent forty years in the professional field of sexuality, if I was going to write, then romance and erotica had to be the genre.
What makes you different?
I come at my writing with my training in sexuality, as a sex therapist and sexuality educator. My training taught me that giving people permission to be who they are with their sexuality may be the most helpful thing you can do. I approach all sexuality content with genuineness, an open mind, and a nonjudgmental stance and I apply that idea to my writing. Working to put the realism of relationships in the context of creative sexuality is my aim.
