I began writing erotica in the heat of mid-summer this year. Before that, I predominantly wrote darkly comic plays and fantasy adventure prose. The latter genre, I've felt, needs a great romantic sub-plot to hold it all together, but I always ended scenes before they got too sensual. As an exercise one day, I decided to test myself and write EVERYTHING that comes to pass between two lovers. I discovered a skill for it, and turned my hand to writing erotica-based adventure and historical fantasy.
What inspires you to write in your genre?
I have a very over-active imagination (which sometimes gets me in trouble) and I have a real thirst to create something that hasn't been done before. For my current erotic series, "Immortal Passion" I draw inspiration from real history to find the most interesting and sensual settings.
What makes you different?
The effort and detail I put into story, character and context. These things really make a difference, for me anyway, between easy smut and truly stimulating erotica. I'd say that mine is erotica for the intellectual.
