Lars Kaiden's Lair

Interview with Kelly Proudfoot

When did you start writing erotica and why?
I've been writing all my life and after releasing my fantasy series (The Storming Archives) I wanted a break from writing fantasy and decided that I wanted to write a contemporary novel. The idea started when I came across some beautiful handwriting and wondered if anyone had ever fallen in love with someone - through their handwriting. This happens to one of the main characters in "The Willow Lake Group" - where two men fall in love with the same woman, in a faraway town where drifters end up finally dropping their anchors. There are many colorful characters - most of which are members of the Willow Lake Group - an arts and literature hub who greet both men warmly. There's magical cooking, poetry and romance - however, I wrote the novel from the perspective of one of the male characters - Gavin.

What inspires you to write in your genre?
I write in many different genres (including fantasy, horror, romance, etc.) Life experiences, my varied interests and many other factors inspire me - including art, music and literature.

I'm also curious about the variety of erotic experiences in the world - now and throughout history. Humans never change - but what does is their unique ability to personalize sexuality and their celebration of the senses.

What makes you different?
My understanding of psychology and the ability to apply that understanding to both male and female points of view.
